Fats Waller Project

This is a project David Skinner put together in 2009 for New Orleans Workshop in Oslo.

The group plays tunes written or made famous by the great stride pianist, both the universally-played, such as Ain't Misbehavin', and the less well-known I've got a feeling I'm falling,Wildcat Blues, and so on.

All the musicians involved in this project have considerable experience and expertise within the genre, and play in various well-established groups, for example Christiania 12, Ophelia Ragtime Orchestra, and Louisiana Washboard 5. The group is fronted by the inimitable vocals of Børre Frydenlund.

Dette prosjektet ble dannet i 2009, da David Skinner satte sammen en konsert for New Orleans Workshop i Oslo. Gruppen spiller låter skrevet eller gjort berømte av den "store" jazzpianisten Fats Waller. Alle musikerne som er involvert i dette prosjektet har betydelig erfaring og kompetanse innen sjangeren, og spiller i mange ulike veletablerte grupper, for eksempel Christiania 12, Ophelia Ragtime Orchestra, og Louisiana Washboard Five. Gruppen er frontet med den uforlignelige vokal av Børre Frydenlund.
