David Arthur Skinner - solo Clavinet

The Hohner Clavinet is a vintage electro-mechanical keyboard instrument containing strings, which sounds a bit like a guitar. I use it especially in a kind of folk music context. This is an atypical way of approaching the Clavinet, but it feels most natural to me. On this page I have provided links to the work I have done so far.

In 2023, I released what could possibly be a world first - an album of jazz ballads recorded on solo Clavinet, The Romantic Clavinet. The recording is released on Pling Music and is available on all the usual streaming services. The cover picture was painted in watercolour by my wife Svetlana Saveleva, and the recording was mastered by Vidar Lund.

Russian Songs

My "Russian Songs" recording (2021) is my own arrangements of six traditional Russian folk songs, available for purchase on Bandcamp. The music is also available on YouTube at a somewhat lower audio quality.

I've also made a couple of other recordings on Clavinet which are on YouTube. If you like my work, please consider following me on YouTube and BandCamp.
